RITUAL screening Sept. 10 2025 in Providence Rhode Island, USA

Recent screening of the film RITUAL, September 10 at 5 p.m. EDT in the Patrick Ma Digital Scholarship Lab at the Rockefeller Library, in conjunction with the opening of ”Shared Magma” at the John Hay Library, Brown University, Providence, RI, USA.

The film Ritual is an experimental documentary by Vague Research Studios and a collaboration between Kajsa G. Eriksson, Lena Berglin and Maria Magnusson. It explores the greed for energy as a social phenomenon, and employs ritual as an artistic method. The result is a meditative journey of hope and renewal, and a poignant reminder of how consumption is destroying this world. Distribution by Filmform

Drop Height Magic – Five sitespecific sound and visual artworks along Kolbäcksån

Five sites along Kolbäcksån close to Fagersta, Ängelsberg, Virsbo i Surahammar, Hallstahammar and Västerkvarn in Västmanland, Sweden

In Drop Height Magic (Fallhöjdens Magi) Vague Research Studios is collaborating with Ekomuseum Bergslagen (Art Space), Strömsholms kanal and Mälarenergi. In the summer of 2023 five site-specific visual and sound artworks will be shown along the river Kolbäcksån. Opening May 6. With support from Region Västmanland.

Such a great experience to visit and show RITUAL at Braziers Park, Oxfordshire, UK. Thank you Braziers International Film festival for an amazing program, atmosphere and hospitality! RITUAL well received and a great circle of thoughts and discussion after screening. The trip to UK was made possible with support of the Swedish Arts Grants Committee.

EPFC (Echo Park Film Center) is doing an outdoor screening of RITUAL. An experimental documentary on energy greed by Vague Research Studios. Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Elysian Park picnic site starting at 8:30 pm. Vague Researcher/Collaborator and filmmaker Maria Magnusson will be attending at the screening!
